Quote

"The Final Judgment is not just an evaluation of a sum total of good and evil acts--what we have done. It is an acknowledgement of the final effect of our acts and thoughts-- what we have become." - Elder Dallin H. Oaks

More Tales of Adventure. . .

Hey guys! Thursday through Saturday was Youth Conference! We went up to Utah State, and we stayed in the dorms. We had many activities including Workshops, Aggie Games, a dance, a fabulous devotional, and a midnight swim.
During workshops, we played games and also had Spiritual time where we wrote our testimonies.
The Aggie Games we played included capture the flag, rock climbing, kickball, water dodge ball, freeze tag, and Aggie Ice cream. It was a blast!
We had a devotional where John Bytheway came and spoke to us! How wicked is that? He was hilarious, but was also very spiritual. Before that, we had a formal dinner and after the devotional we had a dance! How fun! I danced with a few guys, but mostly hung out with my friends. I learned a couple Puerto Rican dances from Sister Zelaya, and that was fun. I also had a daddy-daughter dance. That was great! Thanks dad!! I heard a lot of songs that I'd never heard before, but that was fun!
They wanted us so prepared for the dance that they made us take a dance instruction class. Ha ha. That was actually pretty good! I learned a bit of swing and cha-cha. I danced with quite a few guys during that and most of the time we couldn't do it, so we were just laughing hysterically. It was great fun!
Anyway, after the dance, we had a midnight swim! We went over to the indoor pool at around 11 and swam until 12:30. Ha ha. You can imagine how crazy we were.
After that, our ward's young women came back to the dorms, sat on the couches, ate snacks and chatted.
It was so much fun!
After we packed up yesterday, our stake went, in our sunday clothes, to a place on campus (it was pouring rain that day) and had a testimony meeting. It was so spiritual! I bore my testimony, and made Loryn go up after me. (He he!) Anyway. It was a great experience.
Then we went and had lunch, and then we got to hear from the first counselor in the Logan Temple presidency. He was great! He told us of many people in the scriptures who were examples of the believers, which was our theme.
Then, alas, it was time to go. So we left and in our car, we listened to Brian Regan all the way home (which I'm not sure was the best idea ever) and Lynnsay Ray and I were pretty much crazy by the end. :D Poor poor Maykela and my parents. Oh well! They lived and we had fun so. . . win win win! Right? Lol. Anyway Youth Conference was great! I'm still sore, but it was fabulous. I'm so glad I went.
Well, I'll talk to ya all later. Love ya!
Love-
Rachel
