"The Final Judgment is not just an evaluation of a sum total of good and evil acts--what we have done. It is an acknowledgement of the final effect of our acts and thoughts-- what we have become." - Elder Dallin H. Oaks

Summer Blues

Hey guys! How's it going?
So I'm sure you've heard the bittersweet news by now. School starts this week! AAAH!! How does one prepare for the inevitable? Ah well.
I mean, no one's really excited to go back. I think we all dread the start of the school year really. It's not even going to school that we mind, I think it's more that we don't want to wake up early and have a schedule and do homework. We all rather enjoy our freedom and getting to sleep in and being able to be outside a lot instead of being stuck inside with a pencil and paper in hand.
The bright side of going back to school is the social aspect of the whole thing! We get to see the friends we never saw all summer except for those two minutes when we talked to each other at Walmart. It's so exciting, isn't it? When you think about it, the thing that really helps us get our start at the beginning of the year is that we see our friends, we have new clothes, we have so much to share, we meet new friends, and the possibility of getting lost on the first day. Ha ha. I think that's the best part! :D
On Wednesday it's Freshman Orientation. So only Freshman have to go the whole day, and everyone else goes and gets their school pictures taken. So I don't know what I'm going to do for the rest of the day on Wednesday, but I'm sure I'll think of something.
Do you like the new blog look? I'm thinking of actually keeping the title for a while for once. But let me know what you think! You know I'm always looking for ideas.
Oh, here's an idea! Ever blown out an egg? Ya. Sounds weird, but it's so cool! Here's what you do.
You take a chicken egg and poke a hole in each end of it, making one a bit bigger than the other. Take a pin or tooth pick and stir up the yoke inside. Then blow through the smaller hole and blow out the inside of the egg. (make sure not to squeeze the egg too tight!! :D) After this, run water through the egg to rinse it out. In a bowl or paper cup, make a 1/2 water and 1/2 bleach solution. (so if you put 1/2 cup of water, do 1/2 cup of bleach) Put the egg in this and let it fill up the egg. Let it sit for a half hour, then rinse it out again. Then let it sit out over night to dry. This is such a fun thing to do! When it's all dry, you can decorate it with whatever you like! Lauren and Liam and I did this and it's so cool!
Anyway, that's all from me! Love ya!
Love-
Rachel
